The South African Association of Osseointegration (SAAO) is very happy to announce that the 3Rd International Congress will be hosted in Johannesberg, City of Gold. It is scheduled to take place in Midrand 31 May – 2 June 2018.

This meeting promises to be the highlight of the 2018 calendar, and aims to be the premier dental implant congress in South Africa. We are pleased to announce that the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) have confirmed their continued support of the SAAO as part of their global outreach strategy and will sponsor part of the program with top international speakers.

The theme of the congress will be Challenges in Implant Dentistry. The focus will be on the current challenges we face in Implantology practice today.

The Congress, commencing on Thursday 31 May 2018, will follow a similar format to the 2014 and 2016 meetings. In addition to the main program we plan to run breakaway groups to optimize participant contact with sponsored speakers. It will commence with a Traders’ Day of workshops and small sessions that offer traders the opportunity to demonstrate new products and techniques. These activities will make use of invited speakers in hands-on workshops or table discussions and demonstrations. A roster will be drawn up for four venues, and delegates will be able to choose which venue and topic they wish to attend.

Attendance for the Traders’ day is free for delegates, and the day will conclude with a welcome cocktail function.

The plenary sessions will take place on Friday 1 June and Saturday 2 June 2018.

We aim to attract speakers who can present new ideas as well as share their experiences in managing difficulties associated with implant dentistry.
